COMMUNITY
WORK

NAACP leadership and a track record of showing up where it counts.

Frank Hawkins NAACP

NAACP LAS VEGAS

Frank Hawkins served as President of the Las Vegas NAACP Branch #1111 from 2008 to 2015. The work fit the broader pattern of his life: leverage visibility into actual action for the community.

The mission centered on political, educational, social, and economic equality, along with eliminating race-based discrimination through advocacy, public education, legal action, and persistent pressure where pressure was needed.

EQUALITY WITH SOME TEETH TO IT

The objective is not vague inspiration. It is enforcement of civil rights, removal of discriminatory barriers, public education, and making sure communities are not left to politely wait forever for fair treatment.

To ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and eliminate race-based discrimination.

FREEDOM FUND BANQUET

The Freedom Fund Banquet is the annual fundraising event that helps keep the work moving. Community movements run on commitment, yes, but also on actual money, actual attendance, and people willing to keep showing up.
